I dont believe its the browser, as the gif is playing just as slow on my computer.

How many frames is the animation, and what is the size, both in Kb and pixel area? What optimization settings did you use when you saved? When you view it in GA 5, are you using the Preview Tab in the workspace, or just using the little play button in the Frame Panel? You can't judge the speed by that play button.
